Supporting parents as they grow in clarity and confidence, strengthening the advocacy skills they carry for their Littles.
This Lab teaches parents how to approach schools, clinics, or agencies with clarity and calm. We walk through the language, timing, and follow up style that opens ears instead of closing them. You will learn how to communicate in a way that protects your child’s rights while keeping the door open for real collaboration.
This Lab helps parents create a simple, sustainable system for keeping documents, emails, evaluations, communications, and school records in order. We focus on what matters most in your paper trail, how to track your child’s progress, and how to stay organized without overwhelm.
This Lab walks parents through the full landscape of evaluations, both in the school system and privately. We cover when to request one, how to word the request, what to look for in a clinic, how to prepare your child, and what to do with the results. The goal is to help you move confidently through the process while understanding your rights and next steps.
This occasional Lab introduces new tools, developing resources, or topics I am testing for future trainings. It is a behind the scenes space where you get early access to ideas that may become full trainings later.
Exclusively for The Parent Advocate Lab
Right after each Training Lab, is an open Q&A office hours where parents can bring questions, get clarity, and talk through what they are experiencing.
Little's Details | 7yrs, ADHD, suspected ASD, other medical and mental health conditions
Cathi was very knowledgeable about the IEP preparation and the technical jargon, laws, and processes involved. She provided me with a preparation form to fill in, reviewed it with me, and helped me get clear on my take-away asks, specific accommodation requests, and anything else I might need space for.
She stayed on the call for the entire IEP meeting, which ended up being much longer than the district expected, though not surprising for me and Cathi. She stepped in right when it was necessary to redirect or insist on things being done correctly.
The meeting went much smoother than I anticipated. Thank you. You are a gem, a diamond in the rough.
I help parents navigate IEPs, evaluations, therapy decisions, school communication, and the emotional weight of raising Littles with unique needs. My lived experience as a parent, my advocacy work in Houston, and my commitment to collaborative language shape the way I support families on their S.P.E.D journey.
